Assistant Professorship Tenure Track (APTT) for Internal Medicine

The Faculty of Medicine of the University of Zurich invites applications for the above mentioned position.

The position is associated with a Senior Physician position in the Department of Internal Medicine at the University Hospital Zurich (USZ) and offers a wide range of opportunities for collaboration and creativity. Teaching and research are important areas of work, and a high level of competence in both fields is expected.

We are looking for an ambitious and motivated person who will represent General Internal Medicine in its clinical breadth both in research and teaching.

The research focus should complement the existing expertise. While there is a wide range of possible research foci, areas of particular interest include but are not limited to: polygenic diseases and polygenic risk factors for disease, precision medicine, or systems biology of chronic disease. Applications of candidates with a focus on rare diseases in internal medicine and on «patients without diagnosis» are also welcome.

The research of the successful candidates is internationally recognized and supported by the successful acquisition of competitive external funding. Candidates represent a team-oriented attitude, are committed to interdisciplinary collaboration and bring a high level of motivation to the promotion of young researchers. Good organizational skills and a high ability to work under pressure are required.
