The Department of Surgery at the Robert Larner, M.D. College of Medicine at The University of Vermont and the University of Vermont Medical Center is excited to announce a search for a cardiothoracic surgeon to fill the endowed Frank Ittleman Professorship in Cardiovascular Surgery. The search will be for a senior surgeon with both clinical and research experience. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated successful track record in research (either clinical or basic science). He or she will be expected to participate in the care of adult cardiovascular patients and have significant experience in thoracic aortic disease. Only candidates at the Associate Professor or Professor level will be considered for this prestigious position. Opportunities for clinical leadership exist at the Division and Service Line level.


All applicants must be board certified/board eligible in their own sub-specialty.  He or she must be eligible for licensure in the State of Vermont, eligible to work in the United States, and have experience in the administrative, teaching, clinical, and research activities of an academic division. This is a full-time, 12-month, salaried position with attending staff privileges at the University of Vermont Medical Center.
