Nurse Manager - Endoscopy and Pain Management

Manages practice of professional nursing and delivery of nurse care on assigned unit. Establishes clinical direction for nursing care delivery, provides clinical supervision and maintains quality outcomes. Supervises all aspects of personnel management and development. Maintains adherence to regulatory standards. Coordinates unit operations with other depts. Develops and monitors budget.With a dedicated team of experienced, skilled physicians, talented, caring registered nurses, and GI technicians, Cleveland ClinicHillcrest Hospitals Digestive Health Center offers inpatient and outpatient services to a wide variety of patients. We provide care to patients undergoing gastroenterology procedures, including upper endoscopy, colonoscopy, and PEG tube insertion; as well as therapeutic cases such a ERCPs and EUS. We also conduct breath tests in our GI lab to help doctors diagnose a number of conditions, such as Lactose Intolerance, Helicobacter Pylori (H. Pylori), Fructose Intolerance, and Bacterial Overgrowth Syndrome.Our talented and highly skilled nurses and GI techs work closely with our physician colleagues, specializing in gastroenterology and surgery. All of our nurses are BLS, ACLS, and PALS certified. The Digestive Health Center is an 8-bed unit and includes three procedure rooms, as well as travel capabilities to the ICU, ED, and OR.Unit Highlights 7 a.m. 5:30 p.m. and 24-Hour On-Call Care Services Pediatric, Adult and Geriatric Populations Served Services Provided in Accordance with Numerous Professional Standards, Including: Society ofGastroentereologyNurses and Associates, American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, American National Standards Institute, Inc., Association for the Advancement of Medical InstrumentationResponsibilities:Manages practice of professional nursing and delivery of nurse care on assigned unit.Establishes clinical direction for nursing care delivery, provides clinical supervision and maintains quality outcomes.Collaborates with liaison departments in maintaining patient care standards., identifies and resolves issues affecting the delivery of patient care services in a unit.Develops quality initiatives and implements policies and procedures to insure efficient and effective delivery of health services in a unit.Develops and maintains unit related patient care standards through continuous quality improvement.Maintains JCAHO and other regulatory standards.Manages operation of unit.Analyzes personnel structure, determines staffing needs and mix.Provides direction and supervision, evaluates performance, conducts selection and termination process, develops strategic plans.Actively promotes staff and self development.Participates in clinical nursing research and supports foundation research activities.Directs unit participation in evaluation of new products.Approves purchases and establishes or revises inventory quotes.Assists in the development and monitoring of budget.Other duties as assigned.Education: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required.Master's Degree in Nursing preferred.
