The Vatche and Tamar Manoukian Division of Digestive Diseases at the David Geffen School of Medicine (DGSOM) at University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) is seeking a highly regarded, established scientist and exceptional leader with the expertise and skills needed to be the Director of the Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) Research Center and advance the distinguished research being conducted at UCLA.

Individuals interested in this position should have a M.D and/or Ph.D. degree (or equivalent), and a national/international reputation in the field of academic gastroenterology and/or immunology with a particular interest in IBD. Candidates must have a strong background in basic research in IBD-related themes (e.g., mucosal immunology) with emphasis on novel approaches, a record of accomplishment of extramural funding, and an excellent research and teaching record of accomplishments consistent with this position. Candidates should have a willingness to foster collaborative interactions between clinical and laboratory scientists, a strong interest in mentoring of junior faculty/fellows in our highly interactive academic and clinical environment, and a commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion.

The successful candidate will be appointed to a tenured position at the rank of Associate or Full Professor, considered for appointment to the Eli and Edythe L. Broad Foundation Chair in Inflammatory Bowel Disease Research, and equipped laboratory space commensurate with the leadership role this position will play in the division and David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA.
