Position Information:
The Physician Assistant SUP will work under the general supervision of the Medical Directors of General Surgery and Trauma services, all physician partners, the APP Clinical Director of Medical and Surgical Specialties, and WakeMed Physician Practices to deliver competent pre and postoperative medical care, first assist in the OR as needed, trauma patient assessment and management to patients at WakeMed. This position will assist in the completion of referrals, consults and daily patient rounds. In addition, this position will respond per the trauma handbook as a representative of trauma services to trauma activations in the emergency department. Provides pre- and post-procedure care. Functions as an educator for PA/NP/DO students from healthcare education programs. Works closely with multidisciplinary care teams, ED physicians, Critical Care and nursing units. The provider will maintain a scope of practice to be consistent with the policies, procedures and regulatory guidelines governed by the North Carolina Medical Board and any other federal or state regulatory agencies, as well as the policies and procedures of WakeMed. Understands the needs of the organization and supports the mission, values and management of WakeMed.

Experience Requirements:
3 Years Clinical - Physician Assistant And 1 Year Clinical - Critical Care (ICU/CCU) Preferred

Education Required:
Bachelor's Degree Physician Assistant Required - And Master's Degree Physician Assistant Preferred

Licensure/Certification Requirements:
Licensed Physician Assistant Required

Hours of Work:
Days/ Nights/ Weekends

Weekend Requirements:
Every Third
