Veterinary Technician- Internal Medicine

$3,000 Sign on Bonus!!!

Port City Veterinary Referral Hospital is looking for a full-time Veterinary Technician for our Internal medicine department! We are offering a sign-on bonus of $3000 along with protocol and annual increases. If a VTS is your goal, we can get you where you need to go! Currently, we have 5 VTS in the building with a 100% pass rate on the first time. If you are looking for growth, we offer scholarships to the Purdue tech program and internal support to obtain LVT/CVT. No previous experience in Internal Medicine is required!

About the Job: As a Veterinary Technician in the Internal medicine department you will be responsible for:

• Collecting histories for scheduled patients and managing clients throughout their visit
• Record keeping and maintaining par levels of medical supplies
• Partner with DVM's inpatient assessment, diagnostics, and treatments
• Obtaining and processing laboratory samples such as blood, urine, free fluid, and fine-needle aspirates.
• Utilize different modalities of imaging for patient assessment
• Executing, monitoring, and recovering all assigned sedation events
  
  

About You:

• Minimum of 1 year of experience working in a veterinary hospital setting required. Recent graduates with an associate's or bachelor's degree in Veterinary Technology will be considered; CVT or LVT desired but not required.
• Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills that enable them to develop and foster long term positive working relationships with
• Works well independently and in a team environment where colleagues lead by example and hold themselves accountable for quality medicine and customer service.
• Strong computer skills to work with a paperless information system.
• Flexible, cooperative, dependable, responsible, and good time-management skills to work in a fast-paced environment that can be highly stressful at times.
