Registration deadline is March 16th, 2022 by 12:00pm

We have more applicants than seats for the class. To increase your chances of a seat, you must complete the ENTIRE ONLINE registration process correctly and completely, and follow the steps in email correspondences you receive from the program.

Selected candidates will receive an email invitation to attend a MANDATORY Informational Orientation held on ZOOM on:

March 18th, 2022 from 9:00am-10:00am

Seats to the class will be awarded after the ZOOM meeting via email. These selected students will be required to attend a MANDATORY Screening Day on March 25, 2022 from 9:30am-12:00pm at Crestview of Portland.

Lecture & Lab: April 21, 2022 - May 17, 2022

1:00pm - 7:00pm (up to 96 hours)

Clinical: May 18, 2022 - June 2, 2022

1:00pm - 9:00pm (75 hours)

Clinical Make-Up Day on June 6th, if necessary

This is a great start to becoming a Nursing Assistant in the State of Oregon and is also a wonderful step to becoming a licensed nurse. Avamere offers tuition reimbursement for Nursing School after one year of full-time employment.

Employment opportunities as an NA may also be available within any of our Avamere Facilities. After completing the class and obtaining your NA certification, you would be eligible to apply!

Details:

You will learn to:

Check each resident routinely to ensure that his/her personal care needs are being met in accordance with his/her wishes.

Review care plans daily to determine if changes in the resident's daily care routine have been made on the care plan.

Inform the Nurse Supervisor of any changes in the resident's condition so that appropriate information can be entered on the resident's care plan.

Assist resident's with daily needs, including preparation for activity and social programs, and transporting residents to/from appointments.

Create and uphold an atmosphere of warmth, patience, enthusiasm, and a calm and cheerful environment.

Ensure that resident's rooms are ready for receiving and make residents comfortable.

Participate in facility surveys by authorized government agencies.

Must possess a minimum of a 10th grade education.

Maintain confidentiality of all resident care information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.

Effectively communicate necessary resident information to Charge Nurses, Director of Nursing and/or Administrator.
