Physician - Psychiatry - Chief of Psychiatry Opportunity in Cooperstown, New York

Bassett Healthcare Network , a rural academic health system in central New York and major teaching affiliate of Columbia University, is seeking a Chief of Psychiatry. The Department of Psychiatry includes the Division of Inpatient Psychiatry (14 bed acute Inpatient Psychiatry unit, consults to Med-Surg inpatients at several affiliate hospitals, and consults to the Emergency Departments), and the Division of Outpatient Psychiatry (OMH-licensed clinic in Cooperstown NY) with satellites throughout the Bassett Network and extensive Telepsychiatry services.

The Chief of Psychiatry is responsible for overall leadership of both divisions, and all psychiatrists and Psychiatric NPs report directly. The Chief represents the interests of the Department both internally as part of the Leadership of the Medical Center, and in the community. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical and leadership skills, will be a willing mentor, and will enjoy representing Bassett in interactions with the Directors of Community Services and other community agencies in our eight-county region.
