Job Summary

We are seeking a FT Nurse Practitioner with Behavioral Health experience to work with our current team of psychiatrists. Duties will include inpatient psychiatric unit rounding on one of our adult units, and could also include a mix of psychiatric emergency room consults and consult liaison services. Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm schedule. Potential call coverage. Exact duties will be dependent upon experience/skill level of applicant.

Duties:

* Work with provider to complete initial psychiatric evaluations and develop and carry out treatment plan

* Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings

* Communicate effectively and clearly with the treatment team regarding need for court ordered inpatient or outpatient psychiatric treatment

* Document according to Hospital Based Inpatient Psychiatric Standards

Qualifications:

* Knowledge of ICD 10

* Previous experience using an EMR system

* Ability to assess medical and psychiatric conditions and interpret findings.

* Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff and the public.

* Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.

* Ability to communicate clearly.

* One year clinical experience preferred but candidates with extensive behavioral health rotations during training also considered.

Certifications/License:

* Must possess a State Registered Advanced Nurse Practitioner License and must possess NP Certification.
