With many openings in the multiple functions of VA, you will have a wide range of opportunities at your fingertips.ResponsibilitiesThe VA Midwest Health Care Network (VISN 23) has opportunities for the intermittent position of Tele-Intensivist. This position involves attending in our Tele-ICU facility located at sub-hubs at several VAMC's across the country. The VISN 23 Tele-ICU program serves twenty VA medical centers in twelve states and additional sites as the program expands.Candidates should be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Critical Care by an ABMS Board of Medicine, Surgery, Anesthesiology or Emergency Medicine. Active or recent ICU experience in a graduate medical academic setting is highly desirable. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed.Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.Completion of residency training, or its equivalent, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification.Proficiency in spoken and written English.Physical requirements outlined below.Preferred Experience: Board Certified/Eligible in Critical Care by an ABMS Board of Medicine, Surgery, Anesthesiology or Emergency Medicine Previous/current Tele Critical Care is strongly preferredReference: VA Regulations, specifically VA Handbook 5005, Part II, Appendix G-2 Physician Qualification Standard.
