The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed and are not intended to be a complete list of all responsibilities, duties and skills required.

SUMMARY

Provides indirect patient or resident care under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES may include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Understands and practices medical asepsis and Standard Precautions with all indirect resident care. Performs assignments directed by the charge nurse; reports assignments completed/not completed, and status. Reports changes in resident condition and/or incidents to charge nurse. Familiar with nursing care plans and their proper implementation to each resident. Establishes and maintains interpersonal relationships with residents, family members, and other staff, while assuring resident confidentiality. Attends in-service education programs, as assigned, to learn new procedures and develop skills. Practices careful, efficient, non-wasteful use of supplies; follows procedures of accounting for all used supplies. As time permits, accompanies residents to facility activities, and outside appointments. Willingness to work with the realization that errors may have serious consequences for residents. Patience and sensitivity in dealing with residents. Willingness and ability to perform a variety of routine tasks. Subject to night, weekend and holiday duty.

QUALIFICATIONS Health- ability to meet all performance requirements. Education and Training: will have recently completed an in-house C.N.A Training Course, is in the process of taking the C.N.A Competency Evaluation Exam or is awaiting results of testing. Attend in-service programs, as assigned, to learn procedures and develop skills to meet state requirement. Sensitive to our residents physical and psychosocial needs. Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Pleasant and cheerful personality. Tactful and courteous approach with residents and visitors. Treat all resident information as confidential. Adhere to dress code as directed by facility policy.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND ENVIRONMENT Able to be on feet 7-8 hours a day. Able to lift 60-70 pounds. Able to bend, stoop, squat, or twist frequently. Able to see, hear, and respond to visual and auditory requests by residents and supervisors. Able to clearly communicate with hearing impaired residents. Upper extremity mobility, which does not impede motor coordination and manual dexterity. Able to read and write to document as is appropriate. Report any medical conditions, such as communicable disease, that might interfere with providing indirect resident care. Nursing Administration AssistantOTHER REQUIREMENTS Adheres to and oversees communication of privacy guidelines relative to the confidentiality of residents' protected health information. Participates in company-sponsored training to safeguard against improper use and disclosure of such information. Monitors and ensures compliance with company policies, procedures and state and federal law.
