Virginia Mason has a new full time (40 hours per week) opening for an Operating Room Assistant Nurse Manager. This position has a great schedule working (4) 10-hour shifts per week. Our OR consists of 27-29 suites and our service lines include: General, hyperbaric, HBP, thoracic, vascular, cardiac, ortho (including sports medicine hand and podiatry), neuro, GYN, plastics, ENT, robotics, urology and kidney transplants.

We offer exceptional training and continuing education opportunities for our ANMs to grow leadership skills and learn the essential LEAN initiatives in healthcare. The Assistant Nurse Manager supports the department director in providing leadership and direction to the Operating Room while providing supervision and development of 15-20 team members and assisting with patient care. Our leadership team consists of 6 Assistant Nurse Managers, 2 Surgical Tech Supervisors and one Department Director. The department culture is supportive and collaborative with focus on teaching and continuous process improvement. We have an OR RN residency utilizing the AORN Peri-Op 101 curriculum and we host surgical tech students three times per year. We are a teaching institute and have residents and fellows year round.

This particular position provides operational responsibility to specialty service lines including: Urology, GYN, ENT and robotics. Ensures optimal flow and utilization of resources to meet demand for services with available staff. Addresses patient care or service problems as necessary. Clinically competent for patient populations served. *Qualifications:*

* Bachelor's degree in Nursing, current enrollment in a BSN program, or commitment to achieve a BSN degree required (must be enrolled in a BSN program within one year of position entry date and complete the program within three years of position entry date. As an alternative, a nurse with a foreign nursing degree may obtain BSN degree equivalency through the CGFNS Credential Evaluation Service within one year of position date.)

* Current licensure as a registered nurse in the state of Washington required.

* Three years acute care nursing experience in an OR setting plus two years leadership experience required.

* Demonstrated skill in prioritizing the demands of daily operations and organizing resources required

* Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills required

* Active listening skills and conflict mediation skills required

* Demonstrated skill in facilitating change and building effective teams required

* This position will require administrative on call (troubleshooting, planning, scheduling). Call is one weekday (every 1.5 weeks) + one weekend call (every 1.5 months)
