Interventional Radiology Faculty Position

The Department of Radiology at Stanford Medicine is searching for a full-time interventional radiologist that would be based at the main Stanford Medicine campus. This faculty appointment would be either in the Clinician Educator Line or in the Medical Center Line, at the Clinical Instructor, Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level.

The major criteria for appointment for faculty in the Clinician Educator Line shall be excellence in clinical care and teaching, as well as institutional service appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill.  In addition, faculty in this role would be expected to contribute to the research mission and may involve administrative duties. This role would be at least 80% clinical care.

The major criteria for appointment for faculty in the Medical Center Line shall be excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, clinical teaching, scholarly activity that advances clinical medicine, and institutional service appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill. This position will be focused on clinical care, research, and teaching, with the expectation of significant progress towards extramural funding within 3 years. Faculty rank and line will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.

The applicant will have an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. degree(s) or equivalent, must be board-certified or eligible in diagnostic radiology, and have completed a formal fellowship in interventional radiology or equivalent training. Experience in interventional radiology is essential and commitment to teaching and education is valued. Research interest in clinical informatics or bioinformatics is preferable. However, any candidate with a focused area of research will be strongly considered. The successful candidate will contribute his/her substantial research and/or clinical expertise in interventional radiology, to the academic profile of the divisions. In addition to informatics, all areas of clinical, translational, and basic science research in interventional radiology (including, but not limited to, oncology, thrombosis, women’s health, population health, health disparities, medical device development) are all potential areas of research interest.

Stanford is an equal employment opportunity and affirmative action employer. Stanford also welcomes applications from others who would bring additional dimensions to the University’s research, teaching and clinical missions.
