OPEN RANK, TERM TENURE-TRACK

DEPARTMENT OF PATHOLOGY, ANATOMICAL

The Department of Pathology, Anatomical at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston is recruiting a Pathologist with strong diagnostic expertise and research ability to join the Section of GYN Pathology. Cytopathology training will be considered an asset.

Board certification in Anatomic Pathology, specialty training in GYN Pathology, and an active Texas medical license or eligibility are required. Candidates will be expected to participate in the routine sign-out activities of a primarily oncologic array of specimens. For this tenure-track position, the candidate’s primary research responsibility will be to conduct an innovative, independently funded GYN research program. Demonstrated ability to compete for extramural funding and a track record of successful independent research, including the supervision of postdoctoral fellows, graduate students and other trainees, is required. Startup funds and laboratory space will be provided to qualified candidates. Rank and salary commensurate with experience and academic credentials. Excellent benefits package.

Qualifications:

  1. Board certification in Anatomic Pathology
  2. Active Texas medical license or eligibility
  3. For assistant professor, at least 2 years’ experience as an instructor or 5 years’ post degree with any combination of time as a clinician, clinical scientist, or GME trainee. For associate professor, 5 years’ experience as assistant professor or equivalent or 10 years’ post-clinical degree
