The Department of Cardiology in the Division of Internal Medicine at The University of Texas MD Anderson Center is recruiting an experienced Cardiologist and leader with an established record of outstanding performance in clinical care, research and administration. The ideal candidate will be a leader or emerging leader in the field of onco-cardiology.

The role of the Chair will involve administrative leadership for all aspects of the management of the Department. This includes patient care, faculty and career development, education, finance, budget development, billing compliance, grants management, strategic planning and resource allocation. This position will require the ability to develop effective strategies to grow a sustainable program that ensures high-quality research-driven patient care within one of the world’s most respected cancer centers devoted exclusively to patient care, research education and prevention.

The candidate must have experience in collaborative research as well as an established record in training and development of postdoctoral fellows and residents. The Chair will oversee faculty leadership within the Department, which includes areas of education, information technology, patient care, research, operations and quality. The Chair will need to possess outstanding skills in interpersonal relationships, critical analysis, and problem solving.

Interested candidates must demonstrate the ability to lead within a progressive, complex healthcare environment and have a distinguished record of exceptional patient care within the subspecialty of Cardiovascular Disease. Candidates for consideration must be board certified by the American Board of Cardiovascular Disease and eligible for licensure in the State of Texas.

In addition, candidates should have demonstrated leadership in dealing effectively with different stakeholders both within and outside their institution, planning and assessing programs, developing plans to optimize operations and managing financial and human resources.
