Cardiothoracic Surgeon
The Department of Surgery at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Associate or Full Professor position in the non-tenure clinician-educator track. The successful applicant will be accomplished in the area of cardiothoracic surgery. Expertise in the specific area of coronary artery disease, advanced techniques of coronary artery bypass grafting (including minimally invasive, robotic, and hybrid approaches), and advanced valve disease is required. Responsibilities include providing leadership to the surgical program for coronary artery disease and in- and out-patient care of patients with coronary artery disease and valvular disease. The candidate must also teach medical students and residents as well as participate in clinical and / or basic science research on topics in the fields of adult cardiac surgery. Applicants must have an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree. They must also be certified by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery or eligible for such certification.
The successful candidate will be a member of Penn’s Division of Cardiovascular Surgery and will practice primarily at member institution Penn Presbyterian Medical Center. He or she will partner with a highly accomplished group of consultative and interventional cardiologists.
