ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR, TERM TENURE-TRACK

The Department of Gynecologic Oncology and Reproductive Medicine at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center is seeking an associate professor, term tenure-track to provide comprehensive management of patients with gynecologic cancer in the Houston-area locations and the main campus of MD Anderson. This includes, but is not limited to, diagnostic, surgical (including minimally invasive and/or using robotic surgical techniques), therapeutic procedures and chemotherapy necessary for the total care of the patient. Research interests may include clinical trials, surgical innovation, health services or health disparities. The physician will also select an area of excellence in quality improvement and safety, medical informatics, Cancer Network or implementation and policy; initiate and/or participate in clinical or laboratory research projects in the field of gynecologic oncology; actively pursue publication in major peer-reviewed journals as a senior author or collaborator; and provide instruction in diagnostic, surgical and therapeutic procedures to fellows, residents, nurses and para-professionals. This role actively participates in departmental and institutional committees, local associations, community affiliates, national conferences and international symposiums.

Required: Doctorate-level degree in a field appropriate to faculty role and department mission; board-certified (or obtained within departmental timeline) in obstetrics and gynecology, unless exempted; licensed to practice in Texas. At least two years of experience as an instructor or five years’ post-degree with any combination of time as a clinician, clinical or GME trainee. Preferred: Completion of post-graduate residency and/or fellowship programs, preferably in gynecologic oncology.
