Assistant Professor of Surgery
1. Perform clinical activity and related procedures relevant to the Vascular Surgery subspecialty
2. Will work be able to work and develop a Faculty Practice as it relates to Vascular Surgery at Mount Sinai and its offsite locations
3. Work closely with the Chief of Vascular Surgery to help foster and build a successful practice plan model.
4. Aid in the design, development and implementation of clinical protocols and administrative policies for the division
5. Participate in the teaching aspects of students, residents, and fellows
6. Develop and conduct research protocols and initiatives for the Vascular Surgery Division.
7. Ensure aspects of compliance are adhered to for the division and medical center, particularly as it relates to research.
8. Ensure that the quality and appropriateness of surgical care are monitored and evaluated and that appropriate action based on findings is taken when necessary. Ensure that all patients undergoing surgery at Mount Sinai shall receive a comparable standard of care regardless of the setting in which the care is delivered
9. Participate with the program of continuing education for all individuals who have clinical privileges in the Vascular Surgery Division. The program shall include educational conferences, morbidity and mortality conferences, and in-service training, and be based in part on the results of the evaluation of surgical care
10. Develop a strong working relationship with all full-time and voluntary members of the Vascular Surgery Division, monitor physician satisfaction with the operations of the Division and develop and implement plans that improve physician satisfaction
11. Help to ensure that the Vascular Surgery Division practice remain fiscally sound and work to enhance overall revenue of the Division. This will include monitoring financial reports issued by the Department of Surgery in comparison to the budgeted targets set by the Department and/or Institution for individual activity.
12. Provide on call coverage and weekend coverage to Mount Sinai and affiliate institutions (Elmhurst, Queens Hospital Center, Mount Sinai Queens, Metropolitan Hospital) as required/scheduled.
