The Faculty of Medicine at the University of Zurich invites applications for the following academic position effective January 1st, 2019

Assistant Professorship

non tenure track in

Clinical Allergy Research

The professorship is affiliated with the Department of Dermatology of the University Hospital Zurich. It will be located primarily at the Allergy Campus Davos and at the Hochgebirgsklinik (HGK) in Davos, with research laboratories at the Swiss Institute of Allergy Research (SIAF). The SIAF and HGK are Partner Institutions of the University of Zurich and the University Hospital Zurich, respectively.

The Assistant Professorship is foreseen to develop an internationally recognized research program in allergology / asthma research, with a strong clinical and translational focus. It is expected to conduct clinical trials at either the University Hospital Zurich or the HGK. Acquisition of competitive third party funds and active contribution to teaching students of Human Medicine curriculum belong to the duties of this position.

A clinical specialization in allergology / clinical immunology or in pneumology, or an equivalent clinical training is a prerequisite for this position. The successful candidate will be clinically experienced and interested in pursuing innovative bench-to-bedside approaches in the field of allergy and/or asthma research. We expect a well-documented research track record in this field, including for example epidemiological studies.

We are looking for a young and dynamic personality, curious, flexible and willing to establish an effective network with researchers and key-players on the local, national and international level. For clinical practice, knowledge of the German language is mandatory; however, the successful candidate will be expected to acquire some proficiency in German over time.
