Job Description

As a Nurse, you may encounter a wide range of medical problems. You must be okay with a level of autonomy and taking action without a lot of direction. If you are a good communicator, and are able to handle stressful situations occasionally, this is a great role for you!

CARDIOLOGY - Key responsibilities include but are not limited to: safeguarding the patient as well as providing support and reassurance throughout the different stages of any examination. Responsibilities include explaining the entire procedures to the patients, notably, what they will be asked to do, the effect of the stress agent (if a stress test), the timing of each step, the adverse effects that they may experience, how any adverse events will be managed, and the importance of remaining still during imaging. For a triage role, When making MI triage decisions and determining triage urgency status, you determine the underlying cause of patients chief complaints based on clinical presentation, patient demographics, past medical history, as well as their own attitudes, perceptions and beliefs, nursing knowledge, and experience. Important patient cues include general appearance, vital signs, cardiac history, chest pain, and mode of transportation.

PEDIATRICS - In this role you will provide health and medical care for children from birth through their late teens. You will provide expert care to the child while working with the family to address their concerns, fears, problems, and options. This is an outpatient health care setting.

Other frequent activities include involving the child and family in the plan of care, determining the childs needs based on analysis of symptoms, and determining a childs needs related to growth and development.

Being a pediatric nurse is both a rewarding and challenging career. As a pediatric nurse, you will communicate not only with the child patient but also with all the anxieties and demands of the parents. The joy of watching a sick child recover can be immeasurable but dealing with acutely ill and dying children can take its toll, as you know.
