Are you searching for an opportunity that positively impacts public health? The State of Ohio is seeking a licensed physician to formulate and direct implementation of medical policy for the Ohio Department of Health (ODH) with particular focus on infectious disease issues and the policies of the Bureau of Infectious Diseases (BID), Bureau of Public Health Laboratory (BPHL), Bureau of Health Preparedness (BHP) and Bureau of Environmental Health and Radiation Protection (BEHRP). You will provide direct medical consultative expertise on a variety of infectious diseases (e.g. emerging pathogens, bioterrorism, vaccine-preventable diseases, foodborne disease, waterborne disease, zoonosis, tuberculosis, hepatitis, STD, HIV, and hospital-acquired infections) and related infectious disease issues (e.g. development of methods, design & evaluation of data to ascertain spread of infectious diseases; guidance on Strategic National Stockpile [SNS] and pandemic influenza preparedness & planning activities; investigations of disease outbreaks, including the control and prevention of diseases as a result of naturally occurring infections or bioterrorism) to agency leadership, Epidemiology Core Team members, bureau chiefs, program managers and local and state agencies. In addition, this position will work directly with program supervisors and staff across the agency to address infectious disease issues and write standing orders for ODH for infectious disease and bioterrorism issues.

Ongoing Requirements: Biennial renewal of licensure to practice medicine.

Qualifications
Certificate to practice medicine in state of Ohio as issued by State Medical Board pursuant to Section 4731.14 & 4731.281 of Revised Code.
