Job Description Summary :

The Director, Nursing System Integration directs and manages system-wide inpatient functions for ThedaCare nursing departments. Responsible for operations and the integration services within assigned functions, and serves as an innovator and change agent. Provides leadership to improve performance through assessment, planning, organizing, coordinating, monitoring and evaluating the care and services within scope of responsibility, including House Supervisors, Staffing Coordinators, nursing per diem, and the Clinical Resource team (float pool). Assures a high level of customer satisfaction and manages productivity to achieve budgetary targets.Job Description:

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Oversight for Direct Access and Bed Placement, Nursing Supervisors, Staff Coordinators, nursing per diem and Clinical Resource Team (float pool)
  • Manages and enhances the effectiveness and efficiency of the system through improvements in operational function
  • Coordinates and manages efficient and cost-effective nursing staffing and scheduling functions
  • Collaborates with nursing leadership to develop labor budgets. Manages financial and budgetary performance, including explanation and justification of actual vs. budget variations of core cost centers. Directs the preparation of the annual operating and capital budget for the areas of responsibility.
  • Proactively manages daily staffing decisions within budgeted parameters
  • Manages deployment of staffing and scheduling information systems in collaboration with IS
  • Responsible for maintaining appropriate inpatient staffing levels throughout the ThedaCare system
  • Develops an environment that is supportive of shared decision making, shared governance, and an engaged workforce, and demonstrates personal and professional accountability in the development of high functioning teams.
  • Is responsible for maintaining a communication system that interfaces with the medical staff and other leaders and departments to ensure quality patient care. Impacts change through credible influence and negotiation with other senior leaders.
  • Anticipates challenges or barriers, proactively seeks solutions, and acts promptly and decisively to transform ideas into improved outcomes and sustainable results. Leads and manages change at ThedaCare, measures the impact of changes to help quantify the effect of improvement, and develops new tools to assist in performance monitoring.
  • Leads and supports ongoing activities that promote safe practices, safe environments, and best outcomes. Develops quality improvement processes that include goals and defined performance measurements, monitors division performance against the appropriate national benchmark, and promotes patient-centered care.
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory agencies and influences policy, procedures, and protocols that support top decile clinical performance in partnership with physician medical director, and provides advice and counsel for policies affecting other departments.
  • Implements strategies to promote the professional development of team members and enhances the delivery of clinical care and the professional growth of team members. Coaches and mentors others.
  • Is responsible for the coordination of activities and ensures continual compliance with regulatory standards (i.e., The Joint Commission and CMS).


Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
  • Masters in Nursing or health-related field required
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience to include leading teams and/or projects
  • Current Wisconsin RN licensure
  • Ability and willingness to adapt to changing priorities and requirements. Works with a high sense of urgency, ability to remain flexible within a highly dynamic changing environment. Work well with ambiguity
