The Staff RN is responsible for implementing, directing, communicating and documenting the nursing process and provides a safe environment for patients, visitors and associates. The nurse practices in accordance with current established standards of care, the Nurse Practice Act, the Community Healthcare System policies and procedures, and supports the mission and philosophy of CHS.
Scope of care: The Intermediate Care North Unit is a 32-bed multidisciplinary 24-hour unit located on the third floor of the hospital. Patients over the age of twelve may be admitted to this unit, but the average age is 65. The most common types of patients admitted to IMCU North include patients with: ESRD patients (CAPD or Hemodialysis) either primary or secondary diagnosis, cardiac dysrhythmia, unstable angina, CAD, PVD, COPD, management of diabetes, CHF, general surgical patients requiring cardiac monitoring postoperatively.
Education/Experience: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Current professional licensure by the State of Indiana Health Professions Bureau. BSN desirable. Successful completion of The Community Healthcare System's Personnel and Nursing Orientation Programs. Obtains and maintains current certification (ACLS) as required in specialty areas (Critical Care). Obtains and maintains current CPR
