National Institutes of Health (NIH)

Department of Health and Human Services (HHS)

The NICHD Division of Intramural Research (DIR) is recruiting for two Staff Clinicians in order to grow a comprehensive and innovative Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology program within the Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (REI) and Women's Health (WH) research program at the DIR, NICHD.  This is an extraordinarily important position that will allow us to serve the mission of the DIR, NICHD, and NIH and that of the NIH, Clinical Research Center (CRC) by providing patient care and gynecological consult services while ensuring patient safety for the NICHD patients in the NIH CRC.

The Office of the Clinical Director is seeking two Staff Clinicians who will also support the gynecology and patient care in the NICHD DIR.  These individuals will provide outstanding and highly expert care to the unique patients of the NIH CRC.  They will assist in the training of fellows and other clinical staff who provide complex gynecological care to these patients.  The successful candidates will support clinical research studies in the fields of pediatric gynecology and gynecological health; these two areas are highly specialized and in critical demand for the development of new treatments and new therapeutic modalities.  They will also support a new program being developed for pediatric gynecology and female adolescent health, both unique and highly specialized fields.

The ideal candidates will have a medical degree (M.D., D.O. or equivalent), board certification in gynecology, and a demonstrated record of accomplishment in pediatric and adolescent gynecologic diseases and patient care, have strong oral and written communication skills, and keep abreast of the most current techniques and care for patients. Knowledge of the following areas is highly desired in addition to pediatric gynecologic diseases: reproductive medicine and care of gynecological patients with complex medical problems, including cancer and immunological defects.  More detailed information about the NICHD DIR may be found at https://www.nichd.nih.gov/about/org/dir/Pages/index.aspx

Applications for this position will be accepted from August 27, 2018 to September 26, 2018. Applicants must submit a current copy of resume/curriculum vitae.  A cover letter highlighting key qualifications, a summary stating the applicant’s philosophy for gynecological services, patient care and patient safety, a description of accomplishments in gynecology, and names and addresses of three references are strongly recommended.  Please submit application materials to nichddirrecruitment@mail.nih.gov

Review of applications will begin on or about September 27, 2018.
