General Thoracic Surgery, VA Boston Healthcare System

The Department of Surgery at VA Boston HealthCare System (VABHS) and Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH) are recruiting for a general thoracic surgeon at VABHS.

VABHS is the major tertiary referral center for veterans from throughout New England and is strongly affiliated with Harvard Medical School (HMS), and the general thoracic division at Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH). Candidates should have an outstanding academic record, perform advanced general thoracic cases, participate in the training of residents and fellows and conduct research. Proficiency in minimally invasive thoracic surgery is mandatory. Robotics training and experience in lung transplant and mechanical assist devices is desired.

The successful candidate should be eligible for appointment at the instructor, Assistant or Associate Professor level at Harvard Medical School (HMS). Must have an M.D. or equivalent degree, fellowship trained in general thoracic surgery, board eligible or certified in thoracic surgery and US citizenship is required.

The candidate selected for this position may be eligible to apply for an education loan reimbursement award under the provisions of the Education Debt Reduction Program.
