University of Vermont Medical Center, Vermont’s academic medical center and founding member of the University of Vermont Health Network, seeks an Oncology Nurse Manager.

Position Summary: The Oncology Nurse Manager is responsible for the coordination of the daily clinical activities of the hematology/oncology clinic and treatment room as well as the surgical oncology clinic. The Oncology Nurse Manager acts as a liaison between the staff, physicians, and administration to improve and maintain quality and safe patient care. This position co-leads with the Practice Supervisor and Research Nurse Supervisor and is responsible for scheduling, budget and financial accountability, integration of continuous quality improvement activities and customer relations.  This position also has the key responsibility to ensure compliance with appropriate regulatory standards for Infusion Services. This position will be responsible for ongoing staff education and development needs.      

Education:   State of Vermont Registered Nurse (RN) license required. The University of Vermont Medical Center is moving toward an all Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) workforce. All external candidates hired into, or current employees promoted to, a RN position will be required to obtain their BSN as outlined in the terms of their offer letter. Current internal RNs are strongly encouraged to pursue a BSN to support this initiative. Masters degree in Nursing (or Nurse Practitioner Program), Business Administration, or Health Care Administration preferred.  

Experience:   Three to five years RN experience in cancer services.
