FACULTY POSITION

The Department of Surgery, Division of Vascular Surgery at the Stanford University School of Medicine is seeking an academic vascular surgeon to join the Division. Applications will be reviewed beginning September 5, 2018 and accepted until December 1, 2018. We expect the successful candidate to have an allocated time of 70% to clinical activity, 20% research with research interests in either translational, health services, or clinical trials, and 10% to teaching. This Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/ Full Professor faculty position in the Medical Center Line (MCL) will concentrate efforts mainly at Stanford Hospital, with some fraction of Veterans Affairs Palo Alto Health Care System (VAPAHS) time (percentage to be determined by the specific circumstances of the successful candidate). Preference will be given to candidates with some faculty experience.

The major criteria for appointment for faculty in the Medical Center Line shall be excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, clinical teaching, and scholarly activity that advances clinical medicine, and institutional service appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill.

Faculty rank will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate. The candidate should have an MD or MD/ PhD with board certification in Vascular Surgery. Demonstrated expertise in clinical and translational vascular research is expected, with an emphasis on multidisciplinary collaborations. The successful candidate will share the educational responsibilities and clinical coverage of the Vascular Surgery Service of the Division of Vascular Surgery in the Department of Surgery.
