UPMC Inflammatory Bowel Disease Center seeking full-time, BC/BE, clinically active, IBD-focused gastroenterologist with active research portfolio.

The UPMC Inflammatory Bowel Disease Center is the focal point for adult Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis patient care at UPMC, a leading nonprofit health system with more than 30 hospitals and more than 600 doctors' offices and outpatient sites. UPMC also administers an insurance product, the UPMC Health Plan, with over 2 million subscribers. UPMC’s Total Care-IBD program, the first IBD patient-centered medical home in the U.S., focuses attention on quality and patient safety, while decreasing cost and unnecessary health care utilization. Features of the University of Pittsburgh’s rich environment for IBD-related research include a growing Center for Medicine and the Microbiome, a strong Department of Immunology, a funded NIH T32 training program with focus on big data, and one of six Genetic Research Centers in the NIDDK Inflammatory Bowel Disease Genetics Consortium. More than $485 million in National Institutes of Health funding advances medical research at the University of Pittsburgh and UPMC.

Qualified physician scientist candidates will possess skills to perform patient consultations and routine endoscopic procedures, teach gastroenterology fellows, and will have an active research portfolio with a record of published clinical, translational or basic investigation.
