The Stanford Division of Thoracic Surgery, Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery, is offering a 1-2 year fellowship in clinical research in thoracic surgery, for general surgery residents after their PGY 2 or 3 years, who plan a career in academic thoracic surgery. Our division consists of 5 active surgeons, all of whom have serious clinical research interests and productivity. We also have one of the most highly sought after Thoracic Track Residency training programs. The research fellow would serve as the primary mover of several of the wide variety of clinical research endeavors that are always ongoing in the division. He or she would have the opportunity to apply to obtain a Masters in Science in Health Policy/Health Services research or in Epidemiology and Clinical Research, if desired. A competitive salary (if not provided by the home institution), as well as discounted masters tuition, will be offered. Stanford University is an affirmative action and equal opportunity employer, committed to increasing the diversity of its workforce. It welcomes applications from women, members of minority groups, veterans, persons with disabilities, and others who would bring additional dimensions to the university’s research and teaching mission.
