FACULTY POSITION IN NEUROSCIENCES
The University of New Mexico School of Medicine
The Department of Neurosciences invites applications for a tenure‐track faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level.
Minimum Requirements: Applicants must have a Ph.D. or M.D. degree, or the equivalent and have postdoctoral experience.
Preferences: 1) Applicants with an independent research program, or strong potential for obtaining extramural funding, as evidenced by funding history, high quality publications and their research plan. 2) Applicants with experience working with rodent models of brain disorders, whose research interests and expertise complement programmatic research collaborations with one or both of the department’ research centers; the New Mexico Alcohol Research Center on Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (http://hsc.unm.edu/nmarc/index.html) and/or the Center for Brain Recovery and Repair on TBI and stroke (https://hsc.unm.edu/research/research‐centers/center‐for‐brain‐recovery‐andrepair/ index.html). 3) Experience or interest in participating in graduate and medical school teaching programs. The position includes a competitive state‐funded salary, research start‐up funds and state‐of‐the‐art research and shared core facilities. For best consideration, applications must be received by October 15th, 2018; however, the position will remain open until filled.
