ASSISTANT/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR EMERGENCY MEDICINE PHYSICIAN - CVPH

The Division of Emergency Medicine at The Larner College of Medicine at The University of Vermont is seeking an Emergency Medicine Physician desiring to pursue a career in academic emergency medicine. Appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor (Clinical Scholar Pathway) will be commensurate with years of experience and accomplishments. This position would be located at the Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital (CVPH) in Plattsburgh, New York.

CVPH is a progressive medical center with nine state-of-the-art OR’s and Ambulatory Surgery Center. The position entails providing Emergency Medicine services to the patient population served by CVPH, a community medical center which is a regional referral hospital partnered with the University of Vermont Medical Center.  This position offers the unique opportunity to work in a community setting while having an active affiliation with Vermont’s only Academic Medical Center; the only ACS verified Level 1 trauma center in the state providing tertiary care to patients from Vermont and Northern NY. 

Plattsburgh is located on the shores of Lake Champlain, near the Adirondack Mountains, Olympic-Lake Placid region, Montreal and Burlington, VT.

The University of Vermont Medical Center is the teaching hospital of The Larner College of Medicine at The University of Vermont. It is an ACS verified Level 1 Trauma Center for both adult and pediatric patients, and a major tertiary referral center for the state of Vermont and upstate New York. With an annual census of 60,000 patients, the emergency department is known for high quality patient care and dedicated teaching faculty.

Applicants must be board certified or board eligible in Emergency Medicine and eligible for licensure in the State of New York and Vermont. Although all interested candidates are encouraged to apply, strong preference will be given to candidates with experience in the teaching, clinical, and research activities of academic emergency medicine. This is a full-time, 12 month, salaried position with attending staff privileges at The University of Vermont Medical Center & Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital.
