Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta performs more pediatric surgeries than anyone in the country and our experts lead the way in research. In fact, we have one of the shortest lengths of stay in the nation for spinal fusion surgery. It decreased by 25% over the past few years through our spinal fusion pathway—all with no increase in complications and high patient satisfaction. From outcomes of osteochondritis dissecans of the knee treated with drilling and augmented with bone marrow aspirate concentrate to the feasibility and safety of an accelerated discharge pathway for patients treated for adolescent idiopathic scoliosis, we currently have more than 40 IRB-approved studies in progress. And that’s just the beginning of how Children’s is shaping the future.
