NEUROSCIENTIST IN THE DEPARTMENT OF NEUROSURGERY

BOSTON CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL

ASSISTANT OR ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR

THE DEPARTMENT OF NEUROSURGERY AT BOSTON CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL IS CONDUCTING A SEARCH FOR A CANDIDATE AT THE LEVEL OF ASSISTANT OR ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR, commensurate with experience, training, and achievements. The investigator will hold both Boston Children’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School appointments. The successful candidate will possess a PhD and/or MD degree and have a research specialty in a topic or disease relevant or complementary to the study of neurosurgery. An interest in brain/spinal cord injury or neuro-oncology is preferred, but other interests may include brain development, cerebrovascular, and neural repair. Expertise in basic science with a translational element in neurosurgery is encouraged. The investigator will also be expected to participate in teaching through formal didactic coursework, supervision and mentorship of graduate students and postdoctoral trainees.

The successful candidate should be established as or have the potential to become a recognized leader in his or her field as recognized by publications, successful collaborations and success in attracting peer-reviewed funding. The position offers a competitive start-up package with laboratory space.
