The Division of Stroke and Neurocritical Care in the Department of Neurology at Robert Wood Johnson (RWJ) Medical School, Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey has an opening for one full-time interventional neurologist to start July 1, 2018. Neuro-interventionalists who have strong interests in clinical research and teaching are encouraged to apply. We are the academic department providing medical education for the medical students, neurology residents and fellows for Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, a Joint Commission certified Comprehensive Stroke Center and the primary teaching hospital for Rutgers RWJ Medical School. The Department of Neurology at Rutgers-RWJ Medical School is an academic department with more than 20 full-time faculty, a residency program of 16, and 5 nationally recognized centers of excellence. The Division of Stroke and Neurocritical Care is expanding rapidly with anticipated opening of a new, dedicated, state-of-the-art neuroscience and neurotrauma intensive care unit, expected to open during the last quarter of 2018. Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick is a 600-bed teaching hospital directly connected to the medical school, the flagship hospital of the RWJ-Barnabas which is the largest healthcare system in the state of New Jersey. RWJ University Hospital is a Level 1 Trauma Center and the first Pediatric Trauma Center in the state. A successful candidate will join multidisciplinary neuro-intervention group and be part of the Division of Stroke and Neurocritical Care in the Department of Neurology.
To qualify, candidates must be graduates of an ACGME-accredited neurology residency and fellowship-trained in endovascular neurointervention. Rank will be consistent with qualifications.
