The Department of Anesthesiology at UT Health McGovern Medical School is accepting applications to its Anesthesiology Scholars Program. The goal with this program is to provide research opportunities, resources and mentorship to develop physician-scientists who will be future leaders in anesthesiology research. Applicants are typically MDs who are pursuing or have completed residency training in anesthesiology.
The Scholars will have the opportunity to develop their skills and expertise to perform translational research relevant to anesthesiology. They will be guided by mentors, who are physician-scientists or basic scientists from a variety of disciplines including organ injury, perioperative medicine, pain, and inflammatory diseases. Trainees are expected to spend at least 2 years and minimum 80 percent effort devoted to research.
Eligibility Requirements: a MD degree in a biomedical field and an interest pursuing research projects that will help advance clinical knowledge, treatment and care of patients in anesthesiology medicine.
