Dentistry Chairman
The King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre (General Organization) (KFSH&RC-Gen Org) is a tertiary care, state of the art Hospital situated in the cities of Riyadh and Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and accredited by the Joint Commission International Accreditation (JCIA). Our combined bed capacity of 1,452 is dispersed over three locations. KFSH&RC is the national referral of sub-specialties for Oncology, Organ Transplantation, Cardiovascular Diseases, Neurosciences and Genetic Diseases with postgraduate education programs that support both Residency and Fellowship Training. Expansion projects are planned, including the development of a Pediatric Care Hospital, a dedicated Oncology & Liver Centre and a Biotechnology Centre.
DEPARTMENT OF DENTISTRY
The Department of Dentistry is an integral member of the King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre (Gen Org)-Riyadh, offering comprehensive tertiarty dental care, including state-of-the-art preventive and restorative dentitsry for eligible patients, as well as enhancing the tertiary medical care by performing dental/oral clearance prior to major medical procedures or surgeries. Our Dental Clinic is a hospital-based and busy clinic, staffed by more than 50 dentists (inclusive or residents) of different specialities and nationalities, assisted by about 90 auxiliary staff consisting of dental assistants, hygienists, nurses, dental lab technicians, dental x-ray technicians, clerks, etc. The majority of patients are seen for invasiv procedures on an outpatient basis using local anesthesia, IV sedation or general anesthesia. The department also performs an inpatient activity and has its own hospital beds/scheduled O.R. time. The department has state-of-the-art in-house Dental Laboratory equipped with CAD-CAM technology and Virtual surgical planning and 3D printing.
The Department seeks a full time staff for the position of Chairman, Department of Dentistry. Qualified candidates must have graduated from an accredited dental/medical school, completed required period of training, specialty and sub-speciality with Board certifcation & membership or fellowship status in the United States, North America, United Kingdom, or equivalent. Sub-specialty training and certification (if applicable) are required. Chairman should have post training (residency and fellowhsip, if applicable, i.e. after board certification or equivalent); independent clinical experience of at least (10) years and must have teaching and research accomplishments. Publications records must be original articles in peer-reviewed journals and number of publications should be a minimum of 10. Administrative experience as Chairman/Deputy Chairman/Head of Section/Head of Medical Service or similar position should be a minimum of (5) years.

Organ Transplant Centre
The Centre provides multi-disciplinary tertiary care for patients with organ failure and surgical treatment for conditions that affect the liver, gallbladder, bile ducts, pancreas and duodenum. The Centre has one of the largest pediatric liver transplant programs worldwide, performing ABO incompatible pediatric liver transplantation and the Fully Laparoscopic Living Donor Hepatectomy to be transplanted in pediatric recipients.
•Liver transplant program ranked 1st in the volume of living donor liver transplant out of 137 liver transplant centers in the USA and in the volume of pediatric liver transplant out of 54 Pediatric liver transplant centers in the USA reporting to Organ Procurement (OPTN) and Transplantation Network and the Scientific Registry of Transplant Recipients (SRTR).
•The lung transplant program is the only comprehensive program in the region that performs lung transplant and manages patients with various end stage lung diseases.
•The pancreas Transplant Program was fully activated in 2014.
•For the year 2014, the total number of transplants performed by the Organ Transplant Centre was 310 (175 kidney transplants, 123 liver transplants, 10 lung transplants and 2 pancreas transplants) with excellent outcomes comparable with world leading institutions in the USA.
Qualified candidates will have graduated from an accredited medical school, with accredited post graduate medical training, Saudi/Arab/American board certification or equivalent. Membership and/or fellow status in Europe, North America or equivalent. Two (2) years of training in sub-specialty of transplant pulmonology or two (2) post-training experience required. Accredited specialized training in transplant pulmonology of minimum one (1) year required, or minimum two (2) years’ experience in lung transplantation post pulmonology fellowship.
