The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, the leading cancer center in the country, is located within the Texas Medical Center, the largest medical center in the world. The Department of Nursing is recruiting for a full-time, clinical faculty position at the rank of Professor, Term Tenure. Scholars are invited to apply if they have an established competitive program of research with sustained productivity and demonstrated interest in interdisciplinary collaboration.

The successful candidate will be a nationally recognized Nurse Researcher who will develop a robust research platform in the Department and oversee and engage in research that supports new knowledge and evidence-based practice. Research areas may include symptom management, including survivorship and symptom research as well as patient-driven outcomes, quality of life and/or related areas. The candidate should possess good leadership qualities to effectively supervise evidence-based approaches in the development of patient reported outcomes in clinical practice. Applicants must have a successful track record of independent peer reviewed research and external funding as principal investigator, a solid publication record in peer reviewed journals as well as experience mentoring faculty and nurse scientists in the development of research programs. The candidate will be expected to identify appropriate funding mechanisms to support the research activities and communicate effectively with funding agencies, foundations, policy leaders and other stakeholders. The selected candidate will also serve as the faculty director of the Argyros Family Foundation Nurse-Scientist Fellowship Program. A minimum of five to seven years of research experience is required.

Qualified applicants must hold a PhD in Nursing or related field and be eligible for RN licensure in Texas. If the PhD is not in nursing, the applicant must have an MSN or BSN. Appointment to academic rank and salary are dependent on experience and scholarly achievement.
