One fully supported postdoctoral position is available in the lab of Dr. Catherine Denicourt in the Department of Integrative Biology & Pharmacology at the McGovern Medical School, University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston.

The Postdoc will be part of an exciting and stimulating research environment, working closely with an interdisciplinary team of researchers within the renowned Texas Medical Center (TMC). The Denicourt lab studies how cancer cells produce specialized ribosomes that selectively translate a proteome supporting cellular transformation and tumor development. Projects in the lab involves elucidating how ribosomal RNA (rRNA) modifications dynamically control mRNA translation by affecting the capacity, efficiency and accuracy of ribosomes. We utilize a wide array of biochemical, cellular, computational and in vivo approaches to identify pathways and novel key players involved in regulating rRNA modifications in order to understand how they influence ribosome function and mRNA translation during breast cancer progression.

Education:

PhD degree in Biological Sciences (Biochemistry, Molecular Biology)

Experience:

Recent PhD with experience with mammalian cell culture, protein biochemistry, gene expression analysis, RNA work and in vivo tumor model.

Application Instructions:

Application Instructions: Please email Curriculum Vitae, a statement of research interests, and three letters of reference to: Catherine.Denicourt@uth.tmc.edu
