UC Davis School of Medicine GI Advanced Endoscopy Assistant/Associate Professor

The Department of Internal Medicine at the University of California, Davis School of Medicine is recruiting for one full-time position in the Clinical X or Health Sciences Clinical Professor Series at the Assistant or Associate Professor level in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology to join our existing group of advanced endoscopists. The position will be primarily dedicated to providing outstanding patient care and education in the area of advanced endoscopy. Additional responsibilities will include providing general gastroenterology care and teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows. The Division currently includes 16 full-time faculty and 2 nurse practitioners. Referrals come from within an extensive primary care network, active colorectal and hepatobiliary services, an NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, and from the surrounding region. In addition to inpatient consultative services, the Division staffs clinics and outpatient endoscopy units at 4 locations throughout the greater Sacramento region including a new and expansive clinic with 4 outpatient endoscopy suites. The Division’s training program includes 9 Gastroenterology fellows and 1 EUS fellow.

Candidate is expected to have training and experience in advanced endoscopy including endoscopic mucosal resection, EUS, and ERCP. Excellence in teaching is required. Candidate must have an MD Degree. Candidate must be BC/BE in Gastroenterology and eligible for a California medical license. Completion of an Advanced Endoscopy Fellowship is highly desirable. Appointees to the Clinical X series are required to engage in creative activity that can include clinical/translational research, teaching, patient care and university service. Rank will be commensurate with candidate’s qualifications and experience. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and based on University of California pay scales. Candidates must have the ability to work cooperatively and collegially within a diverse environment.
