The Faculty of Medicine of the University of Zurich invites applications for the following academic position (starting August 1st, 2019)

Professor for

Paediatric Immunology

This professorship includes the Direction of the Department for Immunology at the University Children’s Hospital Zurich. Additional responsibilities are the promotion of clinical and translational research within the department as well as the management of an own research program, teaching on all levels of higher education and participation in postgraduate education and training.

Further central tasks are the cooperation within the network for primary immunodeficiencies of the Jeffrey Modell Foundation and with Rheumatology, Hematology, Oncology, Stem cell therapy, Allergology as well as clinical and experimental Immunology of the University Hospital and the University of Zurich.

Applicants are required to have completed specialized medical training in Pediatric Immunology and have a Habilitation or equivalent degree. The successful candidate has an international scientific recognition and has developed innovative research concepts. Applicants are expected to have an outstanding, internationally recognized record of accomplishments as researchers and expertise in acquiring competitive grants. Particularly important for this position is a high degree of integration ability, willingness to cooperate and a sense for higher goals. In addition, a strong ability and pleasure in maintaining relations with external hospitals and other referring physicians as well as local, national and international specialist societies is essential for this function.

Advanced spoken level of the German language is expected or should be acquired after starting in this position to grant optimal communication with patients.
