The Division of Pulmonary, Allergy and Critical Care Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh is seeking applicants for a full-time faculty position and Medical Director of the Lung Transplant program.  The division is represented by more than 90 full-time faculty members, 30 pulmonary and postdoctoral fellows, and 200 staff members actively engaged in the division’s tri-partite mission of patient care, research, and teaching.

The University of Pittsburgh Medical Center is home to one of the largest lung transplant programs in the United States. Since the program’s inception in 1982, UPMC has performed more than 2,300 lung or heart-lung transplants. The program is one of the most recognized and experienced centers in the world, evaluating many high-risk patients, including those needing re-transplantation.

Applicants are specifically sought with experience and vision to lead an established multidisciplinary team in the care of patients with advanced lung disease including pre- and post-lung transplantation evaluation and treatment. Candidates should have a strong record of clinical and/or clinical-translational research.  The Medical Director will work in a highly collaborative environment with support from faculty with expertise in pulmonary immunology, early and late phase clinical studies, translational epidemiology, and data analysis. Responsibilities will be to lead an active program with goals of program growth, quality improvement, and research.The qualified candidate must be board certified in pulmonary disease and critical care medicine, have sufficient experience in lung transplant for UNOS-designation as Medical Director, and be eligible for licensure in Pennsylvania.  Academic rank is commensurate with experience and qualifications.  An attractive compensation package is being offered.
