Position profile – The Division of Cardiology in Saskatoon of the Saskatchewan Heath Authority is seeking a full time interventional cardiologist with expertise and formal fellowship training in structural heart disease.

The Saskatoon Division of cardiology is primarily located at the Royal University Hospital.  This division is in evolution and expanding its’ interventional structural program.  The successful applicant would join our current group of 6 interventional cardiologists.  There are 2 cardiac catheterization laboratories providing inpatient and outpatient cardiac catheterization services to patients located in Saskatoon as well as central and Northern Saskatchewan. 

Qualifications/Requirements of the position – Candidates must hold the FRCPC in internal medicine with subsequent certification in cardiology.  Candidates must have successfully completed fellowship training in interventional cardiology and formal fellowship training in structural heart disease.  The structural training must include TAVI, percutaneous mitral and tricuspid valve clip procedures/percutaneous valve replacement.  

Academic appointment ranking will be based on qualifications and experience. Teaching responsibilities will include teaching undergraduate students, internal medicine and cardiology residents.

Clinical work will include inpatient, outpatient cardiology and access to cardiac catheterization.

Remuneration will be discussed with selected potential future candidates.  Income will be competitive for Canadian based interventional cardiology positions.
