DIRECTOR, DOROTHY EBERSBACH ACADEMIC CENTER FOR FLIGHT NURSING

FRANCES PAYNE BOLTON SCHOOL OF NURSING, CLEVELAND, OH

The Dorothy Ebersbach Academic Center for Flight Nursing (DEACFN) incorporates multiple, innovative approaches that extend lessons learned from research to inform and improve the preparation of health care professionals with a special focus on education and role development for advanced practice nurses in critical care transport and commitment to interprofessional training.

CENTER MISSION

The mission of the Center is to facilitate education in flight nursing and critical care transport. 

POSITION OBJECTIVE

The Director of the Center is responsible for strategic planning and oversight of day-to-day Center activities. 

  1. Administration of Center
  2. Engage in and support research and creative interdisciplinary and interprofessional scholarship on enhancing nursing practice, improving transport outcomes and enhancing/improving medical in-flight technology
  3. Communication, mentoring, teaching and leadership skills

4.   Business development

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Licensing: Master’s Degree required, Doctorate preferred.  RN licensure required.

Experience required: Minimum of ten years of experience as a flight nurse; at least two years of practice experience as an RN in the United States.

Relationship with critical care transport industry and/or military experience desirable.
