The Thoracic Surgery Branch, National Cancer Institute, National Institutes of Health (NIH), Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is seeking an ABTS certified or eligible thoracic surgeon with a strong commitment to translational research in thoracic oncology. This position, which is in the Center for Cancer Research at the NIH Clinical Center, the largest hospital in the world devoted solely to biomedical research, provides unparalleled protected time, mentoring, as well as laboratory and clinical protocol support in an environment that fosters high risk-high reward research. This position is uniquely suited to thoracic surgeons who wish to establish independent investigative programs and translate their findings to innovative clinical trials with the potential to establish new standards for diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of lung and esophageal cancers, malignant pleural mesotheliomas, and pulmonary metastases. Academic rank and compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
