Full-Time Cardiac Surgeon

The Northeast Ohio VA Healthcare System is seeking a full-time Cardiac Surgeon in the Surgical and Perioperative Care Service Line. The incumbent should be a mid-career level surgeon with at least 5 years of independent surgical practice prior to application. The ideal candidate will demonstrate extensive and progressive executive leadership experience, both as a clinician, as an educator, and as a researcher.  S/he must have formal training and 3-year minimum experience in each of the following, Left Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD) implantation, Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) and other complex cardiac surgery procedures.

This position will include providing clinical care via face to face and virtual modalities, supervising Cardiothoracic fellows and Surgical residents, and providing operational oversight of the procedural components of the section and the professional evaluation and quality improvement programs. 

S/he should possess the ability to promote innovation, inspire organizational excellence, a strong track record of academic performance and demonstrated operations and planning experience in leading and developing a clinical outcome research and grants program.
