• Mount Sinai South Nassau is one of the eight hospitals that is part of the Mount Sinai Health System and is located in Oceanside, Long Island.

The Department of Medicine at Mount Sinai South Nassau, under the Chairman of the Department, Aaron E. Glatt, MD, MACP, FIDSA, FSHEA is comprised of 400 voluntary and full time Internists and sub-specialists and has an ACGME 30 resident Internal Medicine Residency Program which started July 2019. The Division of Neurology is currently comprised of voluntary neurologists and NP specialists who work closely with the hospital

• s gold seal of approval for disease-specific care for primary stroke, AHA Gold Plus Stroke Center and partial thrombectomy capable interventional services, in the setting of a very active neurosurgical service, state of the art neurological imaging studies and epilepsy platform, and a full service tertiary care hospital.
• We are in the process of building a full comprehensive thrombectomy capable Stroke Center and Neurology Service and are looking to recruit full-time faculty to expand the Division
• s services.


Mount Sinai South Nassau also operates Long Island
• s only free-standing, 9-1-1 receiving Emergency Department, located in Long Beach. In addition to its extensive outpatient specialty centers, Mount Sinai South Nassau
• provides emergency and elective angioplasty, as well as being a designated Stroke Center by the New York State Department of Health and Comprehensive Community Cancer Center by the American College of Surgeons and an accredited center of the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Association and Quality Improvement Program.
• The hospital has been awarded the Joint Commission
• s gold seal of approval for disease-specific care for heart failure, primary stroke, hip replacement, knee replacement, wound care, bariatric surgery, and end-stage renal disease, and recently was re-accredited as one of first programs in the US by the Infectious Diseases Society of America as a Center of Excellence for Antimicrobial Stewardship.

The initial neurologists hired for these positions will provide coverage for the in-patient general neurology consultation service at Mount Sinai South Nassau. As the Division grows, a full outpatient platform will be developed as well.

Position Qualifications:













• Medical Degree from an Accredited University













• New York Medical License













• Graduate from an accredited ACGME Neurology Residency Program













• Board Eligible or Board Certified in Neurology













• Experienced neurologists and new graduates are welcome to apply













• Additional fellowship training in EEG, Vascular Neurology, or other areas is welcome but not required to apply for this position
