The Department of Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition (GHN) at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas is recruiting for a full time open rank, term tenure or term tenure track position.   

The  ideal candidate for this open rank, tenure track or term tenure track faculty position is a physician who will demonstrate excellence in clinical and patient care in the specialty of Gastroenterology.  The preferred candidate should be able to provide research expertise design, execution and management of clinical, laboratory and translational research studies related to gastrointestinal medicine and nutrition. The candidate should have established expertise to perform endoscopic procedures, established experience in outpatient clinics, inpatient consultative service, mentoring fellows and others in training.  This position will contribute to the daily operations of the Department of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition through innovative research, clinical activity and educational events. Clinical and research experience in  hereditary GI cancer genetics is desirable.

Required qualifications:

Doctorate-level degree in the field appropriate to the faculty role and department mission. Licensed by The Texas Medical Board to practice or eligible to practice in the State of Texas. Board certification in Internal Medicine.  Board certification or board certification eligible by the American Board of Internal Medicine in the secondary specialty of Gastroenterology. Certification in Basic Life Support or Advanced Cardiac Life Support.

Fifteen years post-fellowship experience as a clinician, in performance of gastrointestinal endoscopic procedures or five years’ experience as Associate Professor or equivalent with prior expertise in the management of independent clinical trials and/or laboratory based research programs.
