Effective January 2023, a full-time permanent faculty position for a Clinician Investigator in the Division of Paediatric Medicine, Department of Paediatrics is available at the Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids), Toronto, ON. SickKids is an academic health sciences centre dedicated to the care of children; affiliated with the University of Toronto.   


The successful candidate for this full-time permanent position should be fully trained in Paediatric Medicine with specialty certification in Paediatrics.  Clinical responsibilities include attending physician on general pediatric hospital medicine inpatient services, attending physician for weekly general pediatric clinic. The successful candidate will also be required to actively participate in Divisional QI/patient safety activities, clinical teaching, and supervision/mentorship of trainees.  In addition, attendance at grand rounds, monthly Division business meetings and monthly ward chiefs’ meetings is required.  The candidate must have research training and experience, and be prepared to establish an independent research program, with the support, mentorship, and supervision of the SickKids Research Institute.


The successful candidate must be eligible for an academic appointment at the University of Toronto. Rank and salary ($210,000-$250,000) per annum and will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. In addition, the successful candidate will be eligible for an associate scientist or associate scientist track appointment in the Research Institute.


The successful candidate will be eligible for a benefit package which includes medical, dental, life insurance, long term disability insurance, group insurance, pension plan, vision care, academic allowance, and a relocation package.


All candidates must be able to function proficiently in English, hold an MD, MBBS or the equivalent thereto and be certified or eligible for certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or have comparable qualifications.  Candidates must hold or be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.
