The Division of Radiation Oncology, The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center seeks a Division Head to oversee all division functions and operations. Candidates must be an established academic radiation oncologist at the rank of full professor, with a distinguished record of exceptional patient care and research within the field of radiation oncology and be experienced in current principles and practices of radiation oncology, radiation biology and physics. The candidate must be board certified by the American Board of Radiology and eligible for licensure in the state of Texas. The Division of Radiation Oncology at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center has an outstanding track record of multidisciplinary cancer care, productive collaborative clinical, translational and basic science research, outstanding educational programs, and a dedicated quality and safety program. The research programs in the Division of Radiation Oncology integrate basic, clinical and translational research through our Divisional Strategic Vision. 

The Division Head will be responsible for all aspects of division functions, including oversight of patient care and clinical and laboratory research, in addition to faculty development and education, and fiscal oversight, to include budgeting, grants management, and financial compliance. The Division Head, in collaboration with divisional leadership, will provide leadership and oversight to the full implementation of the Quality and Safety Program. The position provides an outstanding opportunity for an applicant who has established expertise in an academic environment that includes significant experience in clinical care, research, administration and leadership.

The Division of Radiation Oncology is composed of the Departments of Radiation Oncology, Experimental Radiation Oncology and Radiation Physics and has more than 900 employees, including 164 faculty members. The department Chairs have a direct reporting relationship to the Division Head. The division has robust clinical activity treating cancer patients at its main campus facilities in the Texas Medical Center, at the Proton Therapy Center, in the Houston-area locations and at facilities within the Cancer Network ®.

Applicants should be nationally and internationally recognized radiation oncologists with an excellent reputation in the care of cancer patients, and clinical and/or translational research. The position includes leadership, mentoring and development of main campus faculty, as well as regionally located clinical faculty in the Houston-area locations.

In addition, the applicants should have demonstrated leadership in dealing with different stakeholders both within and outside their institution, planning and assessing programs, developing plans to resolve operational problems and issues, and managing financial and human resources.
