JOB SUMMARY

Halo Staffing Group utilizes the nursing process to role model excellent provision of patient care while maintaining the standards and recommended practices for preoperative nursing. Serves as a liaison to Physicians and Anesthesia. Evaluates clinical practice/care delivery/documentation systems on an ongoing basis and makes appropriate recommendations for system improvement. Reports to Director.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Education and Experience

The knowledge, skills, and abilities as indicated below are normally acquired through the successful completion of an Associate' s Degree in Nursing. A Professional Training RN license in State of Indiana is required. A minimum of 1 to 2 years of job-related experience is required. Experience of 3-5 years Surgical RN is preferred. Basic EKG course and exam, conscious sedation skills validation. After January 1, 2014, candidates are required to have or obtain a BSN within three years of employment as a Registered Nurse. Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS/CPR) within 3 months of hire. Must maintain current CPR certification. Must obtain ACLS within one year of hire.

Knowledge & Skills

Requires resourcefulness in emergency situations.
Licensed as a professional nurse in the state of Indiana or scheduled for the next exam.

Working Conditions

At risk for occupational exposure to blood-borne pathogens.
Mentally taxing at times due to need to prioritize, respond to changing patient/unit needs, unpredictable census/acuity.
Various hours of work due to need of specific unit.
Must report to work location within 30 minutes when On Call.

Physical Demands

Requires the physical ability and stamina (i.e. to walk/stand for prolonged periods of time, push carts/wheelchairs up to 50 pounds, to position/lift patients at a maximum of 35 pounds unassisted, over 35 pounds requires assistance, provide CPR, etc.) to perform the essential functions of the position.

Neurospine is a top service line in our surgical services. The team lead will be critical to help build a dedicated neuro team and to improve efficiencies and quality outcomes as well as helping to decrease costs. Our goal is to grow our neurospine volumes.

What are the 3-4 non-negotiable requirements on this position?
Must have at least 2-3 years of OR experience in neurospine cases. Must have a BSN. Must have experience in building a dedicated neurospine team and improving process flow.
